The Upper Mustang Trek is a unique journey into the ancient "forbidden kingdom" of Mustang, located in the rain-shadow region of the Himalayas. This 12-day trek offers a rare opportunity to explore a culturally and geographically distinct part of Nepal, with Tibetan-influenced traditions, centuries-old monasteries, and striking desert-like landscapes. The trail passes through colorful rock formations, hidden caves, and fortified villages, taking you to the walled city of Lo Manthang, the former capital of the Mustang Kingdom. This trek is an extraordinary blend of cultural discovery and rugged adventure.
The trek begins with a scenic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, followed by trekking along the Kali Gandaki River. After exploring the ancient walled city, the trek concludes with a return to Jomsom and a flight back to Pokhara.
