This trek begins with a drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, followed by a trek through charming villages like Tikhedhunga and Ghorepani. On the highlight day, you’ll hike up to Poon Hill before sunrise for breathtaking mountain views. The trail then passes through Ghandruk, one of the most beautiful Gurung villages, before concluding with a return to Pokhara.

Day 1: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul/Birethanti, Trek to Tikhedhunga and Ulleri

Trek Distance: 7 km / 4.34 miles – Time: 3–4 hours
Altitude: Min 822 m / 2,696 ft (Pokhara) – Max 1,540 m / 5,050 ft (Ulleri)

Start with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul/Birethanti. The trek begins from Birethanti, following the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola through Hille and Tikhedunga. After a challenging stone stair ascent, arrive at Ulleri, a large Magar village.


Day 2: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani

 Trek Distance: 11 km / 6 miles – Time: 3–4 hours
Altitude: Min 1,540 m / 5,050 ft – Max 2,860 m / 9,385 ft

Ascend through beautiful rhododendron forests with views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhare, and Hiunchuli. Pass Nanghethani (2,460 m) and continue upward to reach Ghorepani, a charming village on a ridgeline surrounded by vibrant floral forests.


Day 3: Early Morning Hike to Poon Hill, Trek to Ghandruk via Tadapani

Trek Distance: 13 km / 8 miles – Time: 5–6 hours
Altitude: Min 1,950 m / 6,398 ft (Ghandruk) – Max 3,210 m / 10,525 ft (Poon Hill)

Start early to hike to Poon Hill for a spectacular Himalayan sunrise. Return to Ghorepani for breakfast, then trek through rhododendron and oak forests to Deurali and Banthanti. Descend further through Bhurungdi Khola, ascend briefly to Tadapani, then descend again to Ghandruk, a traditional Gurung village. Visit the Gurung museum upon arrival.


Day 4: Trek to Kimche-Syauli Bazar, Drive to Nayapul and Return to Pokhara

Drive Time: 2 hours
Altitude: Min 820 m / 2,690 ft (Pokhara) – Max 1,950 m / 6,398 ft (Ghandruk)

Trek down from Ghandruk through terraced rice fields and scenic villages to Kimche-Syauli Bazaar. From there, drive back to Nayapul and on to Pokhara, where your trek concludes.

What is the highest altitude we will reach?

The highest point of the trek is Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters, which offers panoramic views of Everest and surrounding peaks. The Everest Base Camp itself is at 5,364 meters.

Do I need prior trekking experience for this trek?

While prior trekking experience is not mandatory, it is recommended to have a moderate level of physical fitness and the ability to walk 5-7 hours a day on uneven terrain. Acclimatization days are included to help with altitude adjustment.
